Silhoutte Lift

Silhoutte Lift Beverly HillsQ. What is a Silhouette Lift™?

Dr. Kagan: A Silhouette Lift with patented threads is a minimally invasive, safe and effective, procedure that offers subtle, natural-looking facelift-like results.

Threads have tiny cones that will grasp on to and lift the soft tissues. The threads are inserted in precise locations using a long needle, and once inserted under the skin, they open in an umbrella like fashion to form a support structure that gently lifts and repositions the tissues into a more vertical and youthful position. With the lift effect secured, the needle is removed, the end of the thread is cut and knotted, allowing it to retract deep under the skin where it cannot be felt or seen. The non-absorbable threads stay within the deep tissues and provide support.

Q. How is it performed?

Dr. Kagan: The procedure is performed under local anesthetic in the office in about an hour. There is no need for heavy anesthesia. Patients always go home the very same day after the procedure.

Silhoutte Lift Kagan Institute Los AngelesQ. How do they work?

Dr. Kagan: Due to the unique design of the threads Dr. Kagan makes a tiny incision behind the hairline and the threads are advanced under the skin. The threads hold the surrounding tissues in place. Once in position, your body generates new collagen bundles that surround each thread to help maintain the lifting effect.

Q. Does it hurt?

Dr. Kagan: Discomfort is very minimal to none with this technique and most patients need only Tylenol for pain relief. In most cases, ice compresses are recommended for the first 24-48 hours. There is minimal to no discomfort during the procedure.

Q. Can this procedure be combined with other cosmetic procedures?

Dr. Kagan: The Silhouette Lift™ is a stand alone procedure. However, it is not uncommon to have this procedure combined with Botox to reduce facial muscle activity, Juvederm or Restylane to enhance volume, or peels and Plasma skin rejuvenation to improve skin texture. Liposuction of the neck and jowls, and chin augmentation, are some of the other procedures that Dr. Kagan performs on a regular basis done in conjunction with a Silhouette Lift™ procedure.

Silhoutte Lift West L.A.Q. What type of results will I see?

Dr. Kagan: The effects are immediate. During the time of your consultation, Dr. Kagan will demonstrate in the mirror, the relative amount of lift that the Silhouette Lift™ can achieve.

Q: When can I go back to work?

Dr. Kagan: Recovery time varies from patient to patient but most patients can go back to work in 7 to 10 days.

Q. Who is a good candidate for a Silhouette Lift™?

Dr. Kagan: In general, the best candidates for a Silhouette Lift™ include both women and men who want a more dramatic and long lasting effect than lasers, Restylane, Botox or other treatments can provide. Patients, who had previous traditional face lift procedures, are also excellent candidates for the Silhouette Lift™. During your consultation Dr. Kagan will tell you if you are a good candidate for the Silhouette Lift.

Q. How do I know if I am a good candidate?

Dr. Kagan: Ideal candidates are women and men in the thirties through the sixties with moderate drooping of the soft tissues of the brow, face and neck. Patients must have realistic expectations. They should not be too heavy or too thin, and should be healthy.

Dr. Kagan was one of the first surgeons in the United States to perform the Silhouette Lift and had taught physicians on the technique. Dr. Kagan has performed many successful Silhouette Lifts for satisfied patients.
