Tired of Your Reading Glasses?
We have an amazing solution for you and it’s not LASIK!
Are you tired of pulling out those annoying reading glasses every time you have to look at a price tag, cell phone, tablet, or your favorite book? Well then you may want to consider a CK (conductive keratoplasty) procedure to significantly reduce or even eliminate your need for those annoying readers.
To help inform you we have answered the most frequently asked questions that Dr. Kagan gets from his patients about CK:
Q: Who is a good candidate for NearVision CK?
Dr. K: You are possibly a good candidate if you answer YES to all three of these questions:
- Are you over the age of 45?
- Do you have good distance vision without glasses or contacts?
- Do you need reading glasses to see your computer, cell phone, pricetags, etc.?
If you answered yes to all three of the above questions you may be a good candidate for the CK procedure.
Q: What is the longevity of the procedure? (most common question we get)
Dr. K: Most patients can get 3 to 7 years from the procedure and then it can be repeated again up to 4-5 times. Dr Kagan has been doing CK for over 15 years and has developed his own specific protocols to improve and increase the longevity of this procedure.
Q: Does it hurt?
Dr. K: Procedure is done in the office under topical anesthetic drops and it takes 10 minutes for both eyes. The majority of patients report minimal to no discomfort during or after the procedure.
Q: How long is the recovery?
Dr. K: Typically recovery is 24 to 48 hours with most patients reporting mild blurring to scratchiness the first 24 to 48 hours after the procedure.
Q: Is this FDA approved?
Dr. K: Yes.
Q: Is this procedure covered by insurance?
Dr. K: No, CK is not covered by insurance and is considered an optional vision correction treatment.
Q: How much does it cost?
Dr. K: The cost depends on if one or both eyes need to be done. We have convenient financing available to help anyone afford this procedure. Click here to learn more.
Q: How come I have not heard much about this procedure from my friends or in the media?
Dr. K: The people who developed this procedure and received FDA approval sold the company to another company who has not taken the time to market and promote this procedure to the public or the media. Because of this it is not well known but those who have had it are very pleased with their results. Please take a few minutes to watch the experiences about CK below from our very own patients!
